how to use aoveda humidity control packets???

hello all
i just bought my first humidor and am pretty confused how to use these aoveda packets. i understand that you are supposed to just drop them in the humidor and forget about them... but do you still use a humidifier along with the packet? if someone could spare a few minutes an give me a crash course of this stuff id appreciate it!

take them out of the clear cellophane.
do not open the pack itself.
safe to lay right of top of cigars.
you can still use your regular humidifer. the Boveda will help regulate the humidity

I think you do but I am not sure.

I just wanted to warn you that if you wipe down your humi with a damp cloth you will raise the wood grain and ruin the inside. To fix it you would have to sand the inside to smooth it back to a flat smooth surface. Then you would have a dusty mess to try and clean out.

So I would recommend just putting a shot glass or two of distilled water in there for a week or two until you have the right readings on your hydrometer.

While it is charging you can put your cigars in a tupperdor.
