What site do you usually buy cigars from?

Do you run a risk of your cigars drying out while being shipped?

Thompson cigars are they reputable? I hear that they have samplers with good cigars but they are not well kept and are crappy smokes.

I have looked at tinder box too I have heard of them. They sound like a good company that has been around for a while?

Check out Famous Cigars a sponsor of this website. There are plenty o others out there that I am sure other brothers will recommend.

Try out famous (especially cigarmonster hourly deals), CI, NHC and then watch for deals that pop up on the daily deals thread. All are online vendors and 99% are backed up by members here who have personally used them. With that being said...also make sure you check out the thread about why to buy at your local B&M...some really good points on there from our members...hope this helps!

I did read that thread on buying at local shops. So far I am just buying singles from local shops I don't know how much they cost or if they have full boxes you can buy. But I am still experimenting with different brands.

its all good! try out some of the samplers they have online...it is a great way to multiples of a brand of cigars. Also hit up the newbie sampler thread on here...u will be set up with a fog who will help with a sampler package purchase from their own personal stash. And all I have to say is that it is 1000 times better than any deal u willl find online...

I've purchased from, among others:

www.famous-smoke.com
www.holts.com
www.cigarsinternational.com
www.newhavanacigars.com

I would recommend any and all of those retailers, for various reasons though. They all have their strengths and weaknesses.

FYI - I've never had an issue with cigars drying out during shipping; in fact, they're generally too wet when I get them! But if you want them as close to perfect as possible, then check out what Dan @ New Havana does; he packs a Humidipack and the cigars together in an airtight vacuum bag--absolute perfection.

I've used these two with excellent results:

www.holts.com - only negative so far is that they haven't ever emailed me a tracking link, in other words, I order on Monday or Tuesday and guess/hope that it will show up on Friday, and it usually does.

www.cigarsinternational.com - I REALLY like how they keep me "in the loop" on my order - they email a tracking confirmation for UPS, it's GREAT! Only had one mix-up on an order and they immediately rectified it to my satisfaction.

Holts.com!

I placed an order yesterday @ 2 pm and my smokes will be here today. They also have the High Noon Specials which include free shipping. Cheers!~

Cigars International is a great site to buy from. I've never had any issues. I live in PA, if I buy something on Monday before 2 p.m. I will receive it on Tuesday.

I do not recommend Thompson. On two seperate occasions I received cigars that had at least one stick damaged. They threw the stogies in a box and put one air pillow in there for protection. Not very wise in my opinion.

Thanks for all the responses guys. Very helpful. I think I will try buying from holts sometime.

And I will have to hit up the newbie sampler thread and get set up with a fog. What ever that is it sounds like a good deal.
