Seriously, I did. My wife bought this ugly ass mailbox 2 years ago and I've been putting off installing because it will probably only hold up for a couple of years before it breaks or some peckerwood smashes it, I had to pour a small concrete slap to install it, and mostly because it's just plain ugly.

Well the nagging finally got to me so I mixed up 10- 60 lb bags of concrete and poured a 4" deep 12 square foot slab and after it cured I mounted the box. Hey! Keep your minds out of the gutter.

Here's the problem, the slot in the front is too small to receive any package wider than 1 1/2" and I can't ship anything from home because there's no place to put sent items other than envelopes. I removed the lock from the side and replaced it with a simple stainless cabinet knob, I'm hoping that the mailman won't mind opening it from the side and placing larger packages there.

What do they do with packages that are too large, do they just leave some kind of pickup ticket?

they leave an attempted delivery notice and you pick it up at the post office.

i wouldn't worry about it,mailboxes don't last long around here anyway...lol

That looks like a heavy duty mailbox. I'd hate to take a swing at that with a BB bat.
Nah, it's cast aluminum and it would shatter in a second. What a waste of time and money. The friggin thing moves with the wind! Every review I've read for it describes how cheesy it's made which is really why I've been putting it off.
