Hey guys,

I've been offered to purchase a cohiba seleccion reserva "box of 30" for $500

As some of you would know, the cigars in this Selección Reserva were made from the finest tobacco in the Vuelta Abajo region. The filler leaves were aged for over 3 years prior to construction, all of which are double banded with the Cohíba label and a special Reserva band. The Media Corona size exists only within this special box and cannot be acquired through Cohíba’s regular production.:squinteye

The box was released in 2003 and now with a bit of age +6, I think it may proof to be a more economic than shelling out a $1000 for a box of 15 Siglo VIs when released. :glassesgr

And one more thing, the box serves as a humidor too :crosseyed

So what do you think guys ? Did anybody try one of those ? Are they worth the hassle ? :dunno:

Moe as in everything cigar related end of the day how much you decide to drop on a box of cigars is upto your personal taste and preference. If you enjoy the Cohiba line and its flavour profile I wouldn't hesitate to get it. Cigars have a way of appreciating in value specially the reservas or limited editions which come out in a limited supply I know the Partagas reservas are smoking really well these days and if these are along the same lines I'd say they'll be brilliant so if you can afford them why not? If you do decide to dabble in these do give us a review.

While I cannot speak with any authority on these sticks, I concur, it's really your call. Please forgive me if I got spittle on you as it is hard to type and drool.

I have smoked the beli, robusto, and corona media(the one on the top right) they were all freakin sweet and I have 2 of the esplendidos at the moment. If you can justify the money I say do it you wont be upset.

Are you sure of the provenance of the cigars? If you are absolutely sure they are legit (remember, cohiba is THE most faked cigars) and you like Cohibas, you should go for it.

I have seen these for sale by legit retailers for $500, so if you are sure go for it. As for whether they are any good, well, there are mixed feelings on this!

And that is the consensus from everyone I given one to. I'm sitting on a box and a half from 2002.

PM your addy and I send you one to help make up your mind.

Are you interested in smoking them, or saving to resell. Not my cup of tea as far as my tastes. If I wanted to spend $5oo on Cohibas to smoke, I would get something from the regular line.
