To avoid the blistering heat of the Central Valley here in CA and so I can get home to spend time with my daughter, I will usually only play golf if I'm first off the tee in the morning (5:30 - 6:00). Most of my smoking is done during this time right now, since the evenings are still too warm for my liking. I've found that the Onyx Reserve Churchill is my go to smoke right now.

What do the rest of you enjoy during a morning round?

Man, I haven't tussled with the white ball since I moved to San Jose. Since I just found out about cigars a few months back, I haven't had a stick while playing golf. I have had the Ony before and bet it would be a nice morning starter.

6AM tee time was accompanied by a LFD DL Churchill. Lasted the entire 18 between smokin, chewin, lightin, again, again and again.

Just got back into myself this summer after about 10 years off with a few rounds scattered in between. Was kind of my summer goal since I still had to do daycare a couple times a week over the summer to keep our spot. Plus i got to go out and spend some time with my dad on the course. Hopefully you'll be able to get out sometime soon.

I smoke cheaper stuff on the course so I don't have to worry about relights, forgetting it on the tee box, windy conditions, etc. Save the good stuff for after the round!

A.M. tee time: Front nine: Padilla 68 Golden Bear or AF Double Chateau SG.
Back nine... Ashton VSG Sorcerer or Illusione 88...maybe a DC Maximus Churchill.
19th Hole: Cab. Guapo

Teeing off at noon or later: Start a little fuller: DE Liga Privada #9, Illusione 88, Gran cojonu
Back nine: Tat Cojo 2009 or Gran cojonu....or maybe an AB Tempus
19th Hole: PSD4 or Cohiba Robusto

I play twice a week... more often when I can...

some of you guys have shot palates from smoking all those tats!

i don't golf, but a morning smoke for me would be something like a Perdomo Champagne, avo xo, griffin's perfecto or something light but flavorful like that...

I agree about the palate thing.. but it was the LFD lines that corrupted me toward full cigars awhile back... before Tats... .. but I still enjoy an Avo LE05, Ashton cabinet or R+J Short churchill with coffee in the morning... l think it's the outdoor thing that makes me want a heartier smoke when I play. :rolling:

That's funny you say that, I am the same way. I can't tell you how many times I have had to relight, forgot it somewhere, or even stepped on it by accident. There is no point of me taking something too nice on the course, but yet every now and then I will. I usally smoke something on the mild/medium side when I play.

Perdomo Champagne is a nice one, or any Illusione. I perfer not to smoke the higher end cigars out on the golf course because I am always putting them down and picking them up. Anything can happen such as them being stepped on or forgotten. Anyone around Sacramento wanna set up a round of BoTL golf? I am up for it this weekend if anyone else is. Let me know where you like to play, I love Ancil Hoffman, Turkey Creek, Whitney Oaks (this corse is so friggin hard!), and have been wanting to try Apple Mountain. I suck at the game but love to play!

Not here man, I smoke my share of Opus, LFD, Tatuaje and the like on the golf course and while cutting the grass. If I'm gonna smoke a cigar, I'll be damned if I'm gonna smoke a cheap one just because I'm golfing or doing chores.

I totally agree Wade. I used to take junkers and you know what, that is what they tasted like. Boli DC or a big ole Habana Leon. I will have to try an Opus next round.

I had an Ambos on the course yesterday, which is a little more of a step up for me for a golf cigar. Still played well (for me) and there were no issues with a forgotten stick. I might start ignoring my previous rule...
