Yes very good music. Although I don't know about saying one of the best there are so many unheard artists. Don't mean to bust your chops.

Ha, you are 18:grin: , you sound like the cops who took Bob Dylan to the police station for wandering around before his show. I would agree he was one of the greatest blues guitarist out there. Oh and as for the others that have not been found, maybe there is no reason yet.

I don't know maybe I do sound like them coppers. I would agree he is one of the best but I am just saying there are other people that can play guitar (meh never mind me).

Hey Brett - Gotta strongly disagree with you on this one man. ( I am a blues man though)

There are TONS of guys who "play" guitar

There are very, very few people who "feel" the guitar like Stevie did. That man had the ability to transcend the guitar and make you feel what he was feeling. There maybe have been less than 10 musicians ever who could do that.

/off soapbox

I'm pretty sure he was a innovator and magician on the guitar. Lets just say he was in the top 10. My stepfather has been playing guitar and other instruments for 30+ years. He could be found everynight playing religiously to a metranome for about a hour and a half every single night. He had always said SRV was one of the greatest. The man knows music he lives and breaths it. His music collection cost more then both there cars. I'm 29 and know the likes of SRV, BB King, Muddy Waters, Jeff Beck, Clapton, Jimmy Page, Steve Vai, Coco Taylor, Buddy Guy, Robert Cray, Bobby Blue Bland and a list of others. I'm privileged to have had the chance to be able to listen to Srv and the others for my age.
Thanks Stevie I'll be livin' life by the drop!

Stevie Ray was a great artist, my fav would have to be Crossfire, BTW: I will never do a R.I.P. again, I did not start the thread to polarize the forum...There are Republicans and Democrats, Independents and people who don't give a damn about what goes on politically in our nation, that being said - R.I.P. to doing R.I.P.'s

I was referring to my R.I.P. post on Sen. Ted Kennedy, since the thread was closed due to political feuding between a few members (won't mention any names) I took the opportunity to give my point of view on the thread that caused such a problem...
