Xikar's round digital hygrometer thermometer seems to work well, I keep it in check with and old analog that I test a few times a year. I have noticed the Xicar will lose about 1 percent accuracy over time, and can be re-calibrated with the push of a button, so good things and bad I guess, but I do like it.

I like the Xikar too. Put it in aBoveda test kit for 24 - 48 hrs to make sure you're at 75% then just press the cal button and it sets the reading to 75%. Very simple to use. Have one for a while now and just checked it and it was dead on. The Western Digital cal III is a good one too. I just got one off Amazon.com for $12.98 and free shpg. Couldn't resist. I just checked and they are up to $15.38 free shpg. Still a good deal. See link below.

I know for those who want to save some $$$ Wally World has the accurite hygrometers that sell for $7.98 and I bought 4 of them for my humidors. I keep beads in all of them and the RH is pegged at 68% +/- 1 degree. For this price it's a win win.
i am not looking to rain on anyones parade, but I do know a little bit about these products.
the trouble with these certified hygrometers is that they are certified at the factory. once they leave that factory, all bets are off. changes in temperature, dust on the sensor, cigar oils on the sensor, dust from the wood in your humidor, these are all things that will knock the accuracy off.
I have been through it all with $300 high end hygros that were certified. within 6 months, mine was off over 10 points. the certificate doesnt guarantee accuracy for a period of time, just at the moment it was tested. recalibration involved sending the unit bacj to the factory. too expensive, and a pain in the ass
save $, and by a recalibratable hygro from me or dave or whatever vendor you like. at about $25 with a calibration kit, its the only way to fly.

I just got mine in the mail this week, did the Boveda test and got a 75%RH.....so far so good
My problem is I want 3 of them for my Vino and I have 3 different hygro brands right now, granted all are accurate, but 3 different brands

I've had this Thermo/Hygro in my walk-in for a while now. When I first got it I sync'd all my other analog/digital units with it. So far all is good. The analogs are much slower to adjust to a change. The other diigitals seems to have a "sweet spot" where they are accurate. Out of that range they vary considerably. This unit can change incredibly fast. Just opening the door to the humi can drop the RH by 2 or 3%. I agree, it's probably not perfect but for the price it's pretty impressive.
I hear ya. I figured if I used it to calibrate the others while it was still new then I could monitor them all over time and consider the average RH to be close to real. Actually I have a hair analog that seems to be very accurate, just that it's really slow to respond. I have a very small fan blowing across the hygro and humidistat and circulating air within the room. This helps keep a humidity balance and no stale areas.
