Nice pic Brooks!

How come almost every time I see a big name in cigars lighting a cigar they are using a soft flame? I always thought this was a nono but have been noticing it more and more. :dunno:

I would use one also. However, since I smoke outside 99% of the time I just stick with a torch.

Oh yeah, nice one Mr. B.

I love this portrait Brooks!

I'm in the same boat as PLUSH on the soft flame. I smoke nearly all of my sticks outside and it's just so much easier with a torch once things start blowing around.

I am not sure where I read it but I remember reading that if you used a soft flame like that you are just coating the cigar with the lighter taste..... Maybe that only applies to a zippo???

J there is nothing wrong with using a soft flame lighter. I sometimes use both on the same cigar. Torch to toast the foot, then the soft flame to finish lighting it. But as long as you are using high quality butane it doesnt matter soft or torch. I prefer a soft flame only because it takes longer and to me more precise. I can roll my cigar around for a long time without it touching the flame. This gives me a very round starting ash and even burn. Nice pic of the Legend as always Brooks.
