So I was tempted to pick up this Liga Privada #9 (Drew Estate) because I tend to gravitate toward darker smokes. Now appearence wise it looks like an azz kicker...black as coal...and smooth almost veinless....looks beautiful. So I clip the cap and the draw was rather tight but not too much I couldn't smoke it. So I lite it up....I get a really sweet slight bitterness taste, little chocolate, and a char kinda flavor. The stick burns evern but doesn't change up a bit in the flavor department...very bland. The smoke it would appear looking at this stick would be heavy but it isn't...this would appear to be a heavier smoke but it is more on the medium side. I found it disappointing especially for a $10 stick. Maybe it's this particular size...not sure...but I won't be buying another to find out. :shame:

Thank you for the review and heads up e-Man, over the past several weeks they have caught my eye but I have not tried them. What has taken me away are the El Titan de Bronze, Sun Grown & Maduros. My local shop went from a couple of boxes to an entire shelf of these. Price point ($6-$7) makes them definitely worthwhile.

You can't even compare a Java to a LP#9. I mean come on, that's like comparing a chocolate cake to a spicy meatball sandwich---two totally different types of products.

And for the record, I love the LP#9.

(but I wouldn't wipe my momma's ass with a Java)

I agree with your review of this stick. I got a 5'r of these and tried the first one and the profile was as you stated. For the price these go for I was a bit ticked off because these are not cheap cigars. After the second one I gave the other 3 away for those that I know like them. I won't be buying these again and just goes to show that cigars are a matter of individual tastes.

thanks for the review, and I don't think you can judge the strength of a cigar by it's skin. I know at one time it was the case, but today I dont' think many follow that rule. Of my favorite heavy smokes none are a Maduro. You might want to try out some of the Illusione line if you like heavy, the 68 and Holly Lance are real ass kicker IMO, love the CG4 as well, but not as heavy.

I agree with you Mitch, never judge a book by its cover!!! I had my first LP #9 tonight and it had a flavor slightly similar to a Tat T110 but much, much milder(probably get crucified for saying so).

I've only had one #9 so far, but I really liked it. I have a few more too, so we'll see how they compare. They are definately milder than many others that people here like, but for a daytime smoke I think they'd be great. They are pricey, though.

I really like the Liga Privada #9. I usually go for cigars with more strength but this is a good kick back cigar. I wish one of the shops around me carried them as I would definantly pick one up from time t time.

I really like the LP#9. It isn't real full bodied but it does produce a large amount of smoke. I think it is a great cigar and I am excited to try it in all the new sizes.

I think the upcoming Liga Privada T-52 line is going to be more full-bodied, based on the reviews I've read so far.

These cigars are out of my price-range, though.
