Has anyone talked about this cigar around here yet? I searched a bit but didn't find anything....well if not, then I'm gonna talk at it a bit 'cause I'm smoking one right now and damned but I actually like it. That's saying something, brotha, because I'm generally not a fan of General Cigar (see what I did there? Funny, right?).
Apparently, this cigar was a "hit" at the IPCPR show this year--or so I've heard & read. Here's something I read about it on Cigar Weekly:
Let me repeat that: this is an extremely well-blended cigar.
Mark your calendar for that one folks, because I rarely say that about anything General produces. Sure, they can make quality, well constructed cigars, and even tasty (if one dimensional) mass market sticks. But I don't often think of them when talking about well blended cigars. Reminds me a lot of a Fuente Don Carlos (that's a compliment).
I'm sure it has to do with the fact that it's a limited production (for them) cigar, with only 5,000 boxes of 20 being produced, so I guess they were able to be more selective than usual with the tobacco they used.
It's not likely to match up with the typical preferred flavor profiles of people around here, but if you have a palette that can appreciate something well balanced from somewhere other than Cuba or Nicaragua, I'd definitely recommend you try this cigar.
Thanks to Frank (Mowee) for gifting me this stick. Much appreciated, sir.
Now if you fellas will excuse me, I'm gonna quit typing and enjoy the rest of this cigar. :ccowboy:

"Balanced" is a great word to describe this cigar. It's got a definite sweetness to it, but it's not sweet. It's got a firey pepperness to it, but it's not peppery. It's got a vegetative undertone, but it's not grassy/green. It's got a deep, rich amount of flavor, but it's not a giant flavor-bomb. It's got a great strength level, but it's not strong. Honestly, I'd say that this is an extremely well-blended cigar. One of best new cigars of the show is a new limited release Partagas Majestuoso. Master blender Benji Menendez is back working in the factory again and his latest creation is the Benji Menendez Partagas Master Series Majestuoso. The cigar has a lot of flavor and balance. Benji used Dominican Piloto Cubano with Nicaraguan mainland and Ometepe fillers a Habano Connecticut binder with a high priming Cameroon wrapper. It delivers an incredible balanced flavor from start to finish. The one size, a 6x46, will come out in October with a price of about $10 per cigar.
