How Old is Too Old???

OK so my thought of the day...how old is too old...to date? I am 25 years old and single and I was wondering how old do you think is too old of a guy for me to date without it looking weird? Please be honest....and please also keep in mind i look really young for my age!!!Thanks for all your comments in advance!!!

There's a formula I've always heard about how young of a woman a man can date (if we reverse it, should be able to figure it out for you):

AGE / 2 + 7 = X
Where X = youngest female dateable age

For example, a 40 year old man: 40 / 2 + 7 = 27

So by reversing the math ( X / 2 + 7 = 25) using your age, "X" = 36

So the mathematical answer is: you can date someone up to 36 years old without it looking weird.

There is an additional variable to the formula: money

AGE / 2 + 7 = X - Y = Z
Where X = youngest female dateable age
Y = Net worth, in millions
Z = Adjusted youngest female dateable age

For someone 55 worth 11 million dollars, it would be: 55 / 2 + 7 = 34.5 - 11 = 23.5 (round up to 24)

So if you want to date anyone older than 36, he'd better be worth some dough. In your man's case, he needs to be worth about 4 million bucks.

Nowadays its seems to be a double standard. young guys can go and get "cougars" and thats cool, but if a girl gets an older man than shes a golddigger. imho do whatever you want and who cares what people think. I dated a 48 year old lady when i was 24 and man did we have fun. long term we grew apart but what a couple of years we had.

I just turned 34 and my girlfriend is 26. We've been dating 4 years. On occasion she likes to stay out a bit later than me. I just suck it up and party on. I think we are a great fit and don't give two shits about the age difference.

eh... my roommate/ best friend is 20 and hes dating a 26 year old... its kinda different though... cause were in college...and the chick hes dating has graduated and is a teacher at a middle school...but yea the age/2 +7 is always a good indicator.

I'm 11 yrs older than my wife. We started dating when she was at university. She was 22, making me 33. We celebrate our 17th wedding anni this month. I'm now 53, she's 42. She loved telling people when she was 39 that her husband was in his 50's. Age doesn't matter. Being sincere and honest with a healthy view on life and relationships are key. Respect for each other is important.There's been no real age related issues at all. We waited to have kids until she was 30.

It's not what others think it is what makes you happy. If the two if you are fine with the age difference then it really doesn't matter what others think.

You shouldn't care. There are no guarantees in this world, you can plan your retirement, buy your house, get your promotion and get in a car accident tommorow. Find someone who is good to you, the rest will work itself out.

Age, in itself, is subjective. What is impotant is the persons involved in terms of stages in life and expectations in a relationship. For example (and this is probably more applicable if the woman is older) if a 25 yr old guy is involved with at 35 yr old woman, the 25 yr old may want to just relax and enjoy time together whereas the 35 yr old woman may want to be settling down because her "biological clock is ticking." These are things you must consider. My wife is 9 years older than me, but we're pretty much the same in terms of these things. However, she is in a bit of a hurry in terms of children when I am not.

Also, remember that both people will have to make some kind of sacrifices in a relationship. No two people are raised completely the same, thus they will expect different things in a relationship. Both people will have to give a little to get a little.

Furthermore, in terms of apperance and others' opinion, who cares? I don't go home to the guys at night, I go home to my wife. See what I mean? As long as you're happy and doing what is ethically right, who cares what others' think? If your friends put you down for doing what you think is best, are they the best of friends?
