I used to think that it wouldn't happen in my lifetime...now I'm not so sure. I believe that if the current administration secures a second term, then we'll see it lifted.

I think that some of the sting has been taken out of the Cuban-American voting bloc in Florida.

While there's no doubt it has been a failed policy, we can be damn stubborn about this sort of thing.

I highly doubt that anything significant will happen until the Castro's are all dead. Being both ot them.

If Obama gets re-elected, then things may change. I would love to see the travel restrictions lifted. I am not so in a hurry to see the trade embargo as a whole go away. I think we all know what kind of effect that will have on both the NC and CC market

Please do not mention sources on BOTL since cuban cigars are illegal for those of us in the states.

I dont think the embargo will be lifted un till 2011. Government is not showing any serious interest about it. I have come to know that most of the Cuban farmers have shifted to Domanian Republic. so if you want cuban taste in cigars buy cigars from this. these are not banned. they have same taste as the cuban cigars has. like i have tested many of them and found that xxxxxxxxxx have a little bit same taste as Cuban cohiba.
i respectfully and completely disagree with this statement.

on another note, i cannot wait for the embargo to end, simply for the possibilities that blenders will have access to cuban tobacco for furthering the industry making me and all my BOTLers even more fantastic cigars!

that could make some incredibly nuanced cigars, that makes me incredibly excited.

i really enjoy many many cuban cigars, but i'm mostly excited to see what happens to a fully united cigar market. THAT is the future post-embargo that i'm looking forward to.

Living in South Florida this talk of an embargo lift brings mixed feelings to me. For one I'd love for Cuban Cigars to be legal and readily available. On the other hand I have many Cuban friends who have had their lives ruined by the Cuban Government, and lifting the embargo puts money in Fidel and Raul's pockets.

just my 2 cents.

It would be nice, wouldn't it. BUt I do think it might increase the cost on all cigars, as well as create more litigation in the courts for some brands. Time will tell, but I agree, it won't happen anytime soon!
