I don't think there's a single inaccurate statement in the above post. Perhaps the only thing I would clarify would be to say that everyone needs to develop their OWN opinion about Cubans instead of just saying "don't believe the hype". Don't think they're infinitely better just because someone else says they are. If you're wanting to take the risk, formulate your own opinion, don't take one from elsewhere. You don't need to travel to acquire a pre-embargo, but they are hard to find & expensive if they are legit. You can easily find Clear-havanas (partial cuban) or bonded-havanas (puros) at Gotham-cigars that are waaay pre-embargo, but these too are a gamble: some taste great, some don't (if you ask me, they are well worth it though).
Don't believe the hype about cubans, or at least take it with a grain of salt: the construction and quality is IMO far superior in sticks coming out of Nicaragua & Dominican Republic. However - each country produces leaf that has a particular taste about it that really can't be reproduced anywhere else - if you favor the cuban twang, nothing but a cuban cigar will ever compare. (I appreciate the qualities & differences coming from many different countries).
Eventually I'm sure you'll try one, but check your expectations so when you light up, you are pleasantly surprised instead of sorely dissapointed.
That's just the craziest damn thing I've read all week.Great post, AJ! I have yet to find a CC that rivaled a DPG, Tatuaje, Illusione etc.
I agree with you. While I like DPG, Pete's and Dion's stuff, nothing comes close to a good CC for me. PSD4, Monti #4, Monti "A", Party Short, I could go on and on, but again that is just my taste. That's just the craziest damn thing I've read all week.
Yeah, crazy strokes. :rofl:Different strokes, my friend...
Hear hear. That's just the craziest damn thing I've read all week.

Thanks if I can afford it, I will. Any idea where the best place/price would be?Just to throw it out there, your first couple to try should be a Bolivar pc and a PSD4.
