Hobbies are money sinks, I tell ya! A guy I know hit some tough times and I purchased his 'gar collection. It was a very good deal and I doubled my own collection in the process (I took on around 300 new sticks).

Except I'm kinda shortsighted when it comes to good deals, you see. I have two 200-count humidors that, maybe if stretched, could hold another 40-50 sticks. Maybe.

So what the hell am I to do with these other 250 or so sticks? I don't want to purchase another humidor right now, so what are my options?

Is it tupperware containers for the time being, or can I make this weekend into a DIY weekend and make something really effective (read: cheap)? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Cool, wish I could run into something like that. How about $50 on a 120 qt cooler, it would hold it all. If you need something smaller get the 70qt for $30.

coolerdor with beads my brother that is the best way to go and it will cost about 30 dollars but it will be well worth it.

one of these from heatfelt:

Put these in the bag:

And then a cooler with some empty cedar boxes:

And read the stickies on storage. There is a lot to learn about the beads and stuff.

Try doing a search here on BOTL for "coolidor", especially under the STORAGE category. This should provide you with a ton of inexpensive solutions.

Yessir, the coolerdor is the way to go for inexpensive mass storage.

I tried to avoid it for a long time because I wanted to keep "nice looking" humis but had to take the plunge recently and do up a coolerdor.

I went very cheap for now... cooler, $3.00 block of floral foam, locking tupperware that I drilled some holes in. It holds around 74 which is fine with me for long term storage.

I'll check into the coolidor project tonight.

I'm assuming there is no need to line the coolidors with spanish cedar?

Much appreciated for the prompt input guys!

I should have mentioned that all but about 40-50 are singles - no boxes. But from the picture cash posted, it looks like I can lump them in there without worry about humidity circulating?

if your cooler is shallow like mine you won't really need it but an oust fan would not hurt. You do not need cedar but it can help. You know empty boxes no need to line it though. Just air out the cooler after washing down on the inside and make sure there is no soap or and residue on the inside then put all the stick in with the beads in a cedar box if you can or just right in the cooler.

my favorite part is the wire shelves. easy to do, and looks awesome
Every time I look at that website it's hard to get by that beast up at the top, that sucker is awesome...

Sooner or later I will make a coolidor, though I think my next project is a Winodor.
