I was talking to a friend recently, and the discussion came up on whatever happened to Thomas Hinds. Looks like to me that you find them in limited places in Canada. These were one of the first premium smokes that I have had. I have not seen them around for many years.

They still have the shop in Toronto, but I have never seen them in US.

Got some last year... it was actually the cheapest cigar in all of Canada.

$9-$10 bucks for a churchill and they were good.

They are still common in Canada. They started as the house brand of a retailer in Winnipeg but have become so popular that they can be found in most Canadian markets. Thomas Hinds also has a great shop in Toronto but is still headquartered in Winipeg and specialize mostly in pipe tobacco. I am surprised that they ever made it into the US. If you feel the need to revisit them just send me your addy.

Yeah, that shop in Toronto was nice... smoked on the rooftop bar next door. It was a nice afternoon.

The LCDH was fancy, but they were out of their mind.

What was wrong with th LCDH. Stupid people working there or outrageous pricing? Both are more then possible:frown:
People were a$$ holes assuming that I knew nothing, would not let me look in the back humidor, followed me around and made sure they saw everything I did.

Snobby / MORE Expensive (I know the pricing is nuts up there but it didn't have to be like that) / Unfriendly.

But TH was awesome, showed me rare stuff, lockers, smoking jackets, accouterments, etc... was a far better experience.

I guess it is just the same as everything else. Big brand name stores often lose customer service because they think they don't need it. Glad to hear you enjoyed your visit to Thomas Hinds though. Toronto is a great city unfortunately they have the Canadian anti tobacco mentality. Tough to find place to smoke but they are better then here.
