I am looking for a travel humidor to store some smokes in when I am out and about traveling. I originally thought a 3 finger case would serve my purpose but then decided that I wanted something a little bigger for when I have longer weekend outings!!! I look at the Xikar X-Treme 10 cigar travel humidor. I perfer the HC collection over the plain one. My question is, does anyone own one and what are you experience?
If you don't, what do you use to carry you cigars when our for a day or a weekend, etc... I saw one that under the first layer of foam, you could store your lighter and cutter, etc... I would be a little hesitant to do that considering the humidity could do some damage. Do I have a valid concern there or will nothing happen?

you can store your lighter and cutter in the travel humi while traveling. no harm done.

I personally know that one of our BOTL vendors just happens to be having a great sale on Cigar Caddies.

I have a 5 and 10 count travel box by Cigar Caddy. IMHO I think anything will work fine I have never had a issue with mine. If you need one in a pinch you can make one.

Hi Bill,

I have two of the 5 count and one of the 15 count cigar caddies, and they are great for transporting and storing a good number of smokes. I personally store my cutter and lighter in the caddy for the time that I'm away with it, and have had no issues at all.

And Cigar Solutions has a wicked deal on all cigar caddies right now. I just ordered 5 to use for gifts.

Thanks for the input guys!!! I am going to check our CigarSolutions.com!!!! They seem to have great deals.
Do you think a 10 count cigar caddy will be alright. I was thinking of maybe a 3 finger sleeve as well to use during more appropriate occasions. Do most people have a supply of traveling products or do i really just need one?

Same here, I keep a 65% humipack in my 15 count and it has been in there for 6 months now.

I've got a 5er and used to have a 15er. I would use a 5er caddy over a 3er sleeve. You can't go wrong with the caddy, they're extremely durable! I happen to know someone on here who has actually driven his car over his caddy and it did not break! The 5er is great for herfs and 15er is good for vacations.

Yeah I think I am going to pick up a 10 count holder. I was thinking the 3 sleeve for more formal work functions, etc... A 10 count should be good for now though

I have had a 5er for years now and can tell you that it will take a lot of abuse. Mine is the old otterbox and it has been on many golf trips and other various trips. And yes you can run over them and protect your smokes.

I agree witht the other posts about Ron's prices. I wish I had ordered a 10 or 15 on my last order. Now that I think about it I may have to buy a couple tonight.

I have a fifteen count & I love it. I use it all the time. It's great for transporting your smokes safely. I store my lighter, cutter, & accessories on the bottom. Also if you make a purchase from Ron grab up a cigar stand. They are super cheap & great so your stick doesn't have to touch that dirty ash tray.

Like the others have said - the Cigar Caddy is an excellent product. I have the two-stick, five-stick, ten-stick, two fifteen-sticks, and two eighteen-stick caddies. The eighteen-stick model will hold well over thirty cigars (depending on the size, of course) if the foam padding is removed. They can even travel this way is they are packed very carefully. My Caddies have traveled well. I have a couple that have been on more than fifty combat patrols. For durability and functionality, they cannot be beat. Throw a Boveda pack into one of these and forget about it. Since they are airtight, the packs seem to last forever.

I also have a three finger cedar-lined leather case. This one gets use when going out to dinner or to a friend's house for the evening, somewhere that calls for a little more style. It never has cigars in it longer than a few hours. There are many options out there for this purpose. I chose Xikar.

How much of a quality difference is there from a Cigar Caddy and a Herf-a-dor brand? Only reason I ask is that Cigbid has a 15 count Herf brand in the free fall auction that is falling to around $15-16 bucks.

What's the difference between a cigar caddy and a cigar travel humidor? I see different prices on CigarSolutions
Cigar Caddy is a brand of a travel humidor, so they are the same thing. I think.....lol.

I'm trying to figure out if there is a difference between the brands Cigar Caddy and Herf-a-dor.
