I had never had a Patel that I cared for. I know, most people love them, but hey, everybody's tastes are different.

Tonight I had a Patel Decade 10th Anniversary, sent to my by jwyatt55. It was WONDERFUL. I'll definitely have to give Rocky another chance.

Thanks, Jason.

Rocky has some great cigars, now whether or not the subjective taste is to the liking of the individual is another story. Objectively his construction is very good. I always say there is a big difference between a bad cigar and a cigar you dont like.

I was into a few of his smokes when I first got into smoking cigars. Now I'd pass on any of his offerings. I smoked the Decade. It was ok. Just that, ok, imho. But different strokes for different folks.

I also used to love his stuff, but my tastes changed and really do not smoke any of his stuff anymore. I do have a Decade from time to time...they are not bad at all. Might have to have another one today to see if I still do like them!

My favorite is the Olde World Reserve Maduro, but I also really like the Edge, Vintage '92, Fusion, Ressisaince, Signature and Connecticut.

Rocky was one of the very first makers I really liked, and although I don't smoke them as often because I have so many other faves now as well, I still like them.

+1

The Vintage 92 got me hooked on smokes, and the Decade is a staple. Still need to try the Fusion, Signature, and his seasonal blends.

Rocky Patel was a pretty good introduction to cigars for me. I got a few of the Vintage 90s and 92s and an Edge Lite in a sampler pack as one of my first cigar purchases, and I was pretty happy with them, especially with the Vintage 92s. Those are the only RPs I've ever smoked, and I haven't smoked them in a while, but recently I've been kind of curious to try one of the others now that my palette's a little more developed. Any suggestions?

Yeah, I just found an old Stogie Review posting about in from a few months ago through Google. Guess I'll skip those Maduros then.

If ye like them, have them. But do bear in mind the colour wasn't attained through a maduro process so if ye want a maduro, that isn't it.

I see your point, Moro. I guess it's just my knee-jerk reaction to being attracted to how dark the wrapper was when I first saw one in person and then finding out that they may be dyed that way.
