Okay so I got a henry clay stick in my cooler which I think might have had high RH I just checked all my sticks and they have a soggy feel to the pinch. I have taken out the dish of water that was in there distilled of coarse. But this is the only one that did not have any cello plastic on it and it has this white fuzz is it safe to smoke or no. Just cut of the section of wrapper or cut the stick off there or wipe it or toss it? Do you think it was high RH that caused this? Here are some pics...

Looks like mold. It won't hurt you, though. I wouldn't put a moldy cigar back in my humidor, but you can wipe off the mold and then smoke the cigar.

And get some beads. Mold forms at RH higher than needed in a cigar. Beads will control that.

You can wipe it off and enjoy. When mold gets in the foot, that's a problem because you can't wipe it off, so then you need to toss it. But you are good to go.

How big is your humidor?

I have had beads from day one but like I said I will have to take out the 2 cups of distilled water. I will have to dry out the beads as well. I think it is a 38 quart cooler.

The cooler set up looks fine. If you have beads and water in ther, then the water will fill the beads to capacity quickly, and after that your rh just keeps going up as the beads are no longer able to absorb the water air. Maybe your way would work, if you lived in a dessert with a leaky cooler. But all you should have to do is mist the beads every couple of weeks. That particular cigar is fine to smoke.

On a side note, Last night at the Beach Herf, Pete Johnson was rushing through a Tat Black Just so he could smoke a Henry Clay. He says it's still one of his favorite cigars.

Interesting stuff... I have a quick question.
I have a small desktop humidor, about 25 ct., which I need to upgrade from soon! I'm thinking about getting some humidor jars. Anyway... I just took out the "florist" type humidification element and put in a Humi-Care pak to replace it since it I don't have the solution the foam. Is this ok?

Ditto with the time to upgrade...I'm not sure what I'm going to do about my space problem yet...Don't have the funds for a new humi. Maybe I'll do the jar thing. Tell me how it works out Kyle!

Yes, this is as close to beads as you will come. And for a small humi, probably better from a space standpoint. However, they are not that cost effective compared to beads, as the beads will last for years and years.

The jars will release humidity, but aren't set at a specific RH. I think I speak for many guys here when I say to GET SOME BEADS. They come in different "dialed in" rh settings, and are the best way to go. Not that you can't make the Jars work, but you can just put some wet foam in a jar and it's about the same thing.
