I'm not sure if this is the right forum or not, but mods feel free to move if it's not...

In March of this year, I was lucky enough to take a group of friends to Santiago, Dominican Republic with me, as a guest of Gene Arganese, owner of Arganese Cigars.

We spent 4 nights at his house...he was a great host, providing us with all the beer, food, cigars, and rum we could handle (which was quite a substantial number)

We toured his fields and factory, and even got to blend our own cigars, picking the binder, wrapper, and filler.

Here's a link to a photo album, if anyone's interested! It was a trip of a lifetime, and I'm getting to go back in February for Carnival, and more cigar debauchary

The totals came out to about 45 cigars from Saturday night to Wednesday Morning...along with 8 cases of beer for our group, and probably 12 bottles of rum...

We'd literally get up around 8, have breakfast, and start the cigars by 9 AM with a cup of Santo Domingo coffee...and we'd end the night around 3 or 4 am with a rum and coke or Presidente...

It was an amazing experience, and gave me a whole new perspective on the cigar industry...seeing the whole process from a handful of seeds to wrapping the boxes in cellophane was the best part

Nice pics, you look really familiar. Were you at the Famous Cigar Expo this year?

We were there last year. Man I miss Santo Domingo coffee and Brugal rum. Here's our pictures, including many taken at Tabacalera de García in La Romana. http://picasaweb.google.com/EALFOTD/PuntaCanaDominicanRepublicJune2008?feat=directlink
