Questions about Wineador Setup

Hello Brothers,
I recently bought a 17 count wine cooler which I plan on turning into a wineador. I have some spanish cedar trays, and beads on the way and I'm looking for a fan. I was planning on laying some spanish cedar on top of the wire shelves. Is this necessary or can I do without it? I was planning on buying some cigar boxes and breaking those down to use. Are most wooden boxes made out of spanish cedar or should I be cautious about what to look for? Thanks for your input.

Most boxes should be made out of Spanish Cedar, if you plan on keeping them in the boxes you can just put them right on the wire racks.

Yeah but I already bought the trays since I think they look nicer. Do you think I need the extra cedar sheets? They sheets may prevent air flow since they are blocking the slots at the bottom of the trays.

That's a good question. I have a wineador and did some research and from what I've read, you should be okay with just using cigar boxes and cedar trays. Many people have wineadors simply for storing boxes of cigars and they don't have any extra cedar lining. Obviously adding cedar lining along the sides or back can't hurt, so it's up to you if you want to do the extra work.

Not sure if all cigar boxes are cedar, just look for well-known brand cigar boxes. Ask your local B&M for some empty cedar boxes and they should hook you up.

Nice work getting the wineador, now the fun begins to fill it up!

I looked today at the vendors page they were out of stock on the Oust fans as others have noted. I found a company that has em in bulk(case) If and when I get there response back from a email I will be doing a split for whomever needs them. Keep in mind right now that this is not a sale, split or tade. Just info for guys looking for them. If you are interested in oust fans pm me. This post is not in the trading zone, so lets please respect the rules. I'll be happy to help ya on the fans if I get them.
