I think if you're going to use twitter, just use status updates on facebook and you get the rest with it. I really don't get the whole twitter fad...

You miss the point of Twitter compared to FB.

It's not the "status update" technology that matters. No, it's all about the intent + audience. That is to say, Facebook is all about finding & interacting with your group of friends...while Twitter is all about following & interacting with famous people and internet celebs you don't know and will never meet.
