Seeing how it's getting almost impossible to find Oust fans these days I did some research and found a pretty good solution that might work...
Two links below;
The first link is to a nice 3 1/2" AC fan...no need to worry about Oust battery life anymore. The red & black wires could easily be extended and should be thin enough to slip into a humi.
The second link is to a lamp timer that has 24 on/off settings per day to control the fan.
Fan is $14.95, Timer is $7.40...not bad for under $25!
I haven't tried this yet, stuff is on order and I will post results later.

Noob here... What are you using this for? To help circulate air in your humidor? How big does it have to be before you start worrying about air circulation? Can you increase RH by doing this?

Thanks

Yes, those fans are great ideas.

Curious though, what kind of humi are you putting it into... (wineador, coolidor etc?) and how are you going to secure it inside?

Thanks again for the link!

You pretty much only need one if you are using a pretty large humi / Coolidor / Winedor....

And pretty much you need them if you don't open the door very often.

And no it won't increase RH but it can make it more consistent throughout the humidor.

I will probably explore this avenue when I get a wine fridge for aging. Damn I need to get around to doing that, the desktop is getting way to full.

It helps even the RH throughout the whole cooler/Vinotemp. When ye get either, get something to circulate the air, preferably with on/off cycle.

Just don't move the thing and it should remain standing. It is not like the beads need something to secure the tray they're in.

This will be for a 28 Vinotemp.
I'll extend the + & - wires; insulate the wires well and run them into the vinotemp thru the drain hole and plug it.
This fan is more powerful than an Oust so I'll need only one.
I'll secure the fan, with stainless steel screws to a cedar shelf...
...could use a suggestion though...not too sure if I should place the fan in top, middle or bottom of vinotemp or the orientation of direction fan should face.
I'm thinking of a few placements...
1) on top, mid or bottom shelf near back wall facing the door.
2) on top shelf facing down
3) on bottom shelf facing up
I ordered a 1 lb bag of 65% beads and already own a cigar oasis.
I'd appriciate any suggestions on placement of fan and humidification items.

Zulu, just avoid the air hitting directly any single stick that are not covered. Other than that, physics alone will make the whole thing circulate. Justneed to find a space amongst the boxes. :smokingbo

Yeah the Fan will be fine anywhere as long as it isn't directly hitting any cigars, don't want to dry them out.

Everyone i have ever heard from suggests Heartfelt Beads for Humidification, so I shall do the same.

BTW, let me know how this set up works out and take some pics, I definitely may end up using this set up when I get my cheap ass out to buy a wine fridge.

Good find Zulu, and for the fan type, some other brothers might consider using under carpet speaker wires... they would fit between most vinotemp door seals very nicely and prevent the need to run them through the drain hole. (they're specifically made flat)

Just another option for this... if anyone has a different configuration.
