I have been wanting to got to a local cigar lounge here in CT for some time now. Its called the The Owl Shop & Lounger. The wife and I drove down to New Haven and had dinner then hit the lounge. It is Connecticut's only Cigar Bar, it has been in place since 1934 and has been grandfathered through all the laws and remained open.

It's a younger crowed, most likely because it is across form Yale. Their was a steady crowd coming in and out all night. The atmosphere was friendly, low lighting, a large choice of liquor, coffee or other beverages. Their cigar menus was fairly large too. The had a live jazz band playing last night. The prices are average and fit right in with the local shops.

However, I was a little turned of because the band blocked one of the humidors and they could not get any of the selection out so you were limited to what you could have. Also the waitress seemed to get everything wrong. I found myself repeating everything 2 or 3 times. The rest of the staff was not to friendly either unless you were a regular.

Once we got settled in, we were able to enjoy our cigars. Made friends with random people in the crowd and had a good time. We will go back again and hopefully be able to bring more people with us.

Just one word, GO!
Well maybe a couple of more words. I too usually smoke outside at my house or a friend’s house but I do like to go to a lounge as often as I can. You always meet new people and see friends that you have made by going. I have never had a bad time at a cigar lounge. Go, you’ll be glad you did.

I go as often as possible. I have learned a lot and have been introduced to some great cigars that I normally woudn't have tried. What do you have to lose?
