I hold onto my TAT Reserva SW Maduros like I do my 2 year old at the zoo at night during Halloween. I hat to smoke them as I know that if I do they will soon be gone. But I love them so much...

I had to smoke 3 of them this week for my special event..... I finally learned how to land the airplane without assistance. I made several unassisted successful landings over the last three days. A real milestone for me that called for a great stick.

No one in my circle smokes cigars so I rely on BOTL. Hoping an Ohio HERF comes up or something....

With that being said, nothing in my humidor is over a year old........Smoke em if ya got em...

As you get a little older you realize how short life really is. Smoke em and enjoy them. If God forbid you get hit by a truck today, someone else will be smoking your HTF cigars tomorrow.

Yes, cigars are to be smoked. This is why I smoke at least one every day, well most of the time. That being said, I can not afford to smoke the most rare cigars each and every time. In fact, I do not consider any cigars I have to be rare, sure some might be a little harder to come by like the Tat SW Maduros. I have already blazed through 8 of those. Same way with the Westies, going through those like people are giving them away, LOL. I know some people have no interest in OpusX. I seem to think they are pretty special, maybe cause I've had only 2. I had my last one the other night reading through www.smokingstogie.com as he had that History channel show on about tobacco, and a portion of it was on cigars. Anyways, it was very good. I'm sure it is a combination of many factors, the cigar, my mood, my perception of the cigar that I was smoking, heck, I was reading the other day that it had to do with the ph of your mouth, so you never know.

I have already changed my will to make it so that BOTL gets the vast majority of my smokes if anything happens to me.

No, I am not kidding :smokingbo

I have a few Franks that I want to smoke but I know that they will probably not be made again so its holding me back from smoking them. However, cigars are meant to be smoked right?
Nuckz, from what pete has indicated, the frank is a one and done deal. Also, that, from what I understand is the whole monster line, is one and done. Not trying to be a jerk. Now I do understand the want to hold off from smoking. Smart call! Enjoy them when you do...

Chuck, that would be my luck! lol
Seriously though this thread has got me thinking. I have to confess I have a few (1 of each) rare cigars or at least rare for me that I have been holding off smoking. For example, I have 1 Frank gifted to me by a generous brother last year and I just haven't been able to bring myself to smoke it yet because it will be gone and I like knowing I still have it there. If I can hopefully score a Drac (and possibly a Boris) in a sale or trade this year I will definitley burn the Frank. If I have at least one monster in my humi I think I'll feel better.
Many have brought up a good point though that a cigar is there to be smoked and enjoyed even if it can't be replaced.
Better get to it before that truck comes! lol
I tend to smoke the more common sticks just to save those special ones for the right time but what is that right time and when will it come? It will be hard to break my MO here but I think it's time to face the flame.

From my signature:

I've got a great cigar collection - it's actually not a collection, because that would imply I wasn't going to smoke every last one of 'em.

I smoke htfs on a weekly basis. Its just no big deal to me. It's not like Htfs are way better then other great smokes in current production right now, so I smoke em. Had my last Frank few days ago. Boy was it good. Just let em free boys, let em free.
