Had to start a thread with Drac and Boris in the name for my own selfish ambitions. But seriously there have been some really good smokes released lately that havent gotten any play on here. What do you guys think?

I smoked one of the My father Le Bijou's the other day over at Jack Swartz, and all I can say is that is one fine cigar. It was so creamy and delicious. In my opinion it is the best thing Pepin has done since the Padilla 1932's. They beat the sox off the regular my father line.

Davidoff colorado claro- every few years the leaves are a little darker and they release a colorado claro boxed cigars, and these are supposed to be quite a treat. I believe the last time they were released was like in 01, so its been a while. Dont know how long these will be around if this story is true. Got some on the way

The Perez Carillo cigar wasnt bad either. While I thought it lacked a lot of the complexities I personally enjoy, I could see how others would really dig this smoke. From what I heard it was the hit of the RTDA trade show this year

Ashtons san crisobal del sol series is out, and in my opinion still is lacking in that certain je ne se quois, or however the heck you spell it. An over-rated brand, that never lived up to its expectations. i still hope that someday pepin will tweak and make it more smokeable!

Havent had the Padrons, but Ive heard good thins. After a disappointing 80th maduro, I have lower expectations for this one, but have one in each wrapper on the way, so we shall see if they can live up to their predecessors... or at least most of them

What else have you guys thought. What else is good out there right now that is new. What do you think of the 08 CC stock, I think the ERDM's, party's and Cohibas from this year have all been nothing short of superb. if someone mentions the drac or boris in this thread I might Sh!T a brick. Not that Im not into them I just dont want to talk about them anymore. cheers!:cbig:

The EPC? It was very different, but VERY good.

They just have them there? I thought it wasn't coming out until NOV?

ok, i'll play your game.

i've been hoarding La aroma cuba ORs, cause i love them and i'll miss them when they're gone.

i really like the le bijous as well. i'm planning on starting a petition to pepin to make them in a lancero size. i think i would give my left nut for a box of 25 lanceros.

what else have i been excited about.... hard to think past the tat LE loop going on in my brain.

i anxiously await a nostros, despite the negative feedback that came, i'm a decent fan of dions stuff, so i look forward to seeing how drew estates may have influenced his work.

I smoked one from the ICPCR show and thought it was fantastic. It was spicy as you'd expect from a Pepin blended smoke with the sweetness from the sun grown wrapper. One of the best smokes I've had in some time. I can't speak for the ones that are just now being released but after smoking the one from the show I can't wait to get my paws all over a box.

i'm still pumped for the viaje 50/50. have to admit that i thought, for the pricepoint, the brickhouse was pretty good.
I also like the 50/50 you sent me. Only had one so far but will revisit soon, very different from my normal smokes, in a good way.

Id give my right nut! I wasw thinking the same thing!

My bad NJ on the Pepin Blended 1932, but i was just rying to make a point, that ive been less impressed with his stuff since then.

San Cristobal del sol- Mine was from the show, and while definately better than the regular line, just didnt do it for me. believe me I really want to like this cigar, so I will give it another try soon, but my expectations are very low on this one.

Forgot the Tat blacks! I am looking forward to these. I still have my jar sitting here uncracked from the last release, but still smoking those single I got, as well the pre-jar releases, and all I can say is Im convinced this is still the best cigar released last year. Period! Will be interesting to see what happens to the flavor with the larger ring gauge. Cant remember if Pete tweaked the blend a little either. I hope not!

I hope you have a beeter experience with the next Sand Cristobal del Sol. If not thank god there are plenty of other sticks out there. I know I had a similar experience with my first ECCJ I thought it was bland and did nothing for me. Now it's one of my favorite sticks.

As for the Tat Black, Pete told me that these should be better than any of the previous releases because he's using the same tobacco and it has obviously aged since the last release.

Two cigars I tried and LOVED, and am therefore looking to get more of soon:

MF Le Bijou - way better than orig line. WAY better.
Tat Cojonu 09 - not really all that new any more, but my favorite in the brown series by far. It doesn't get much talk here, considering the hefty amount of Tat talk here.

Some more...

Illusione Nosotros - Curious, and I love the Illusione and Epernay cigars.
Illusione Cuchillos Cubanos - ditto above
Of course, I will want to try both tubos...

last time i was in the b&m they had some cojonu 03's that were as dark as some of the other sticks in the reserva line. if my money was tied up in other unmentionables i would loved to have tried some.

Kind of off point a little but I have been smoking alot of non Tat stuff lately. So I guess maybe I'm excited about that. I have always given stuff a try. But the last few months I've been pulling stuff out from every box and humi. Little Litto here, Padron here, some Pepin, Oliva, Etc. Even if its new release as well, I've been lighting it up also. But the LHO3s I received a few weeks ago have been taking a hammer. Half a bundle down in two weeks!(did I mention 2 dollars a stick!)
