So I am having to make the four hour drive to Houston almost every weekend now to take my grandfather to and from chemo in his final days. This weekend I smoked a fantastic Rocky Patel Vintage 1992 provided to my by a Wknd bomb. So what are some other good cigars that have a long burn that might help me take my mind off of this unpleasant trip? Just a few suggestions for new cigars would be nice.

For the road, I like narrower cigars. They tend to smoke slower than their thicker brothers and are usually cheaper. I think you can enjoy a great cigar while on the road but there are those times when you've got to concentrate on other things besides the stick. Thus, this makes a difference.

The only time I've smoked in the car, I noticed the stick burned much faster (all the wind I assume). So anything that gets nasty when burned too hot would be bad.
I agree on the churchill size too, partially for this reason. Anything you normally enjoy will probably be good. If you haven't had a Tatuaje Havana VI (red label) yet, this sounds like a good time to try one

Sorry to hear about your grandfather bro!! In unpleasant times I would suggest like others, to pick your fav and get the biggest size you can.
I have gone through the same thing with my mom to a point. I didn't have to drive her 4 hours though, but I did have to go through the chemo etc....

I agree with SkinsFanLarry and suggest a churchill size cigar in something you like or a A or double corona size. Others I would suggest are:

Another good thing to remember with cigars & driving: Turn your fan up all the way, your Re-circ off & open your window or sunroof a crack. It will positively pressure your car & force it to have an air change regularly without blowing you away with the air.

A La Riqueza Cabinet DC would be my first suggestion but any Double corona or Salomone should give you a good few hours. Pick some brands you like and you can't go wrong.

Yeah i agree with Skinsfanlarry, churchill's are perfect for long smokes. It's a great size for those long smokes, depending on the cigar i've smoked some that lasted for 2hrs.

Man, yet another Tat or Illusione I haven't smoked. Are they regularly available? My local Tat shops DEF don't carry them. Call me crazy but wouldn't they get in the way when driving? A 9" cigar might turn into the window when you check your blindspot or cause an issue with your arm when you're turning!
