I got lucky. I have only been smoking cigars for a few weeks, and she doesn't mind. I actually came home from work yesterday to a new 150 ct humi that she bought for me.

Mine does not mind. In fact, she uses it to her advantage. . .She knows when I sit down to have a smoke that it is a good time to talk to me. . .She has turned it into quality time for us and we both enjoy it. . .It has worked out quite well. . .

My wife is a very special person, happily supportive in all her husband's endeavors - as I have found are a majority of Brazilian women. Being that we were both non-smokers, she was intially amused that I was interested in Cuban cigars 5 years ago, then thrilled when I later wanted to comparatively explore the Brazilian puros as a mission. Seeing that mission as a sign that I was becoming more and more "Brasileiro," she willingly gifted me my first cutter and my first torch lighter.

As my smoking increased from a few cigars a week to one cigar a day, she did initiate a conversation about her concern that I might be moving toward addiction. She stated at that time, that superceding her concern for the smoking (she knows I don't inhale) was my propensity to have a scotch with my cigars. Her first husband, over a period of years, became alcoholic to the point of abuse and I could sense her fear that I might travel down the same road. So, to ease her fantastic, but obviously troubled heart, about four months ago I agreed to smoking only on weekends and varying the drink of choice when smoking. I have held to that pact.

It is a cheaper avocation this "weekend warrior" way. I also feel more in control of my actions. Plus the anticipation ("Which one first? Which to finish?") for that Saturday and Sunday smoke makes cigar smoking exciting and less routinely matter of fact.

Like others have stated in this thread, I try to pay attention to hygiene at some point after smoking, out of respect for those around me who may not like the lingering smell of cigars on a person's clothing, hands or breath.

She hated for the longest time saying i stunk. Finally I told her that not matter how much she bitches I am not giving it up. Since then she hasn't said a word!!! If I smoke before bed, she does ask me to wash and change my shirt. That's fine with me!!!! At least the constnt bitching has stopped!!!
Mine's deathly allergic to smoke and still doesn't complain she knows its my way of relaxing, winding down and just getting rid of all the stresses in the work day. On the bright side its better I smell of smoke than be drunk off my ass every night.

My wife hates it....she wants me to cut down to 2 per week...she is worried about health risks....paranoid probably because there have been too many people we know lately (40 and younger) that have died....but not from smoking. She nags "when you get mouth cancer will you then quit smoking" told her no way. She just associates cigar smoking along the same lines as cigarette smoking and doesn't want to hear any different. She has bought me cigars before though.

Mine joins me in a smoke maybe once a week. It's been fun trying different sticks on her in search of 'favorites', but it's a moving target, as all men must know.

Mine smokes with me and numerous times is the one actually dragging me out to the local gar hangout for smokes on weekends. She's got her own small humidor for her smokes and enjoys them just as much as I enjoy mine.

Oh, and she's hot as hell too, and I think even hotter when enjoying a robusto. That counts for something as well. :)

Came home last night on our 3 year dating anniversary to a cold beer and she had picked me up a Short Story, one of my favorites, if that answers the question. As for when a purchase arrives by mail, I get a look over the shoulder.

Mine would be considered a violent anti-smoker, she can smell a cigarette 2 cars away with the windows up and the a/c on recirc. I've been enjoying a good cigar or pipe since I was 12 so I'm a lost cause, but like they say "If Momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy":smokingco

My wife doesn't mind my smoking cigars. She does mind what I spend on them. I'm 62 years old and didn't start smoking cigars until I was 60. I smoked cigarrettes for many years but quit about 5 years ago. Hell, after you've been married 40+ years, you can get away with about anything.

Ha, she doesn't. Always complaining about me and my "friends" (that would be all of you). I think she has given up, which is good. She is preparing for the loading of the cabinet. Her comment was, "just make sure you fit in it, cuz that's what you'll be burried in". That's fine, I said.

She only said that when I was at Jeff's place to keep me from calling her.
