i am working on having 1/4" thick by approx 1" diameter foam circles cut for my Herf-Tubes. One of these foam "coins" will go in each end of the Herf Tube. Designed to protect the ends of your cigars.

I am thinking of going with white color foam. grey foam is very obvious in the clear herf tube, and the white is a little less obvious. is white OK?

next, do you want the foam coins glued in place, or loose?

my vote is white, and not glued. i don't think it will fall out once placed in there. JMHO. And will save a little time and $$.

i could just get them cut a hair oversized, and they would just be press fit into place. the foam is soft, so that should work fine

good point on the glue. that decides that, no glue. thanks for the help on the glue
No worries man, just trying to help... going back and forth between the foams and all the Xikar/Xtreme/Madeline humidors use the grey foam, and come to think of it, it's probably because of staining and age wear. They will be thin enough at both ends to not deduct from the sticker/cigar, so it might not be that big of a deal!

How about some pictures?

the grey foam is fine in a black tube, its just sticks out like a sore thumb in the translucent tube

Don't rib me too much on this one, but...

Wouldn't the white ones take on sort of a "stained" look over time from the oils and such?

In the photos, the gray looks good to me.
