This January, I'll be cruising through the caribbean and am planning on picking up some ISOMs while down there.

Obviously, the selection is vast and I need help deciphering which cigars could be a good choice (I have not yet had a single ISOM).

I'm a huge Tatuaje, Illusione, DPG, Opus fan so sticks within those profiles would be adored. Can you guys give me any hints as to what I should pick up?

Thanks in advance - and oh, if you personally know of any good places to shop in St. Maarten, Tortola, or Antigua please let me know...

Goes without saying....buyer beware especially in the Carribbean.
St. Martin does have a La Casa del Habano in Marigot I believe. That's the only place I'd consider buying anything. Keep in mind costs per stick will be high so budget accordingly.

As far as recommendations, it seems you tend to lean towards fuller bodied sticks. Therefore I'd recommend R&J Cazadores, Bolivar Belicoso Finos or Corona Gigantes, Partagas 898 Varnished and the Ramon Allones Seleccion Suprema.

Lastly, I'd recommend the usual suspects: Partagas Serie D#4, Cohiba Robusto, Lancero or Esplendido and the Montecristo #2. Enjoy discovering the dark side! You may never go back [insert toast icon]

I must agree here, I wouldn't buy anything except from La Casa Del Habano, I seen so many fakes when I was there in Feb. I was able to score some from Atlantis in the Bahamas though, kinda' over priced though for sure.

That is a perfect response. Couldn't have said any better myself.

Thanks!

I know I have to shop at La Casa del Habano to guarantee legits and I understand it will be pricey. Can anyone tell me if I'll be able to get singles and fivers/samplers or will I only be able to do box purchases?

You'll be able to buy singles. It's just like any other cigar shop, except with a whole new world of awesomeness that stores here don't carry.

The cool thing about everywhere but the United States is that cigars commonly come in cardboard 3- or 5-packs! You can do singles, too, but the packs usually save you a little bit of dough.
