I am going to have to have carpal tunnel and ulmer nerve surgery the first of next month and will not have the use of my right hand or forearm for several weeks. Can cigars be pre-cut or punched without any ill effects. I sure don't want to wait to recover to smoke some good sticks!
BTW, I am not looking forward to this surgery. If it will help, I am willing because this stuff has been a real pita.

If it is just a carpal tunnel release, why will you be unable to use your hand for so long? Isn't it being done arthroscopically or endoscopically? Anyhow, nicotine reduces blood flow and could impair your healing process following surgery. If it was myself undergoing such surgery, I would stop smoking cigars a few weeks to smoke again, before and wait until i was released by the ortho to begin.

I just got over surgury on my left hand (same thing) and will soon have the right done. This is my second surgury on both hands due mainly to my muscle desease which causes nerve damage as well. So I'v been trough alot with my hands and my point is I could still punch my cigars with little problem and depending on wether your right or left handed the cutter will be difficult because your thumb will be week from the surgury. Good luck brother and I hope this helps!

Thanks guys for the well wishes. It will be difficult, if not impossible, to ordinarilly not have my cigar fix for the day! With that said I may not feel like smoking for a few days after surgery but I am sure before long I will want a good cigar and was not sure if I could do a decent job with my hand bandaged up so wanted to pre prep some when that day comes. Glad to hear I can cut or punch a few and put them back into the wineadoor.

i JUST SMOKED A CIGAR THAT i CUT 2 YEARS AGO. It was plugged when I cut it, RH 70%. Now I have lowered my RH to about 62% and it was just fine. So to answer your question I don't see a problem with it. Good luck with the hand.

I've cut a cigar and got caught up doing things where I couldn't smoke it, then when I went back to humi I went with something different. Anyway I have never noticed any difference or ill effects. GOOD LUCK ON YOUR SURGERY, and I hope for a quick recovery brother.
