You don't say so, do you have a problem with this? I don't really see why this is a problem for some people. I realize many of the terrorists these days are muslim, but most muslims are law abiding citizens like everyone else. Should we condemn all Baptists because many KKK members were Babptist? Or all Germans because of the actions of Hitler? Part of the problem with our world is that we just don't understand each other and don't make much of an attempt to do so. Our country was founded on the principle of freedom of religion. I think we all need to remember that more often.

No I don't have a problem with it at all. I just have never seen it before until now. Has anyone else here ever seen this stamp before?

And to make it clear to everyone, I'm not anti Muslim.

I've seen it before. I don't know what the big deal is we have plenty of christian holiday type stamps and other cultural stamps. There are plenty of muslim people in our nation and much of them are perfectly law abiding.

Definitely a non-issue.

The only issue here is if people have a problem with it.

Now if they introduced a Bin Laden commemorative stamp that would be an entirely different animal.

It's unfortunate that people would see this and make a comment like "this appears to be true." To me that indicates that the initial thought was that it wasn't / couldn't be true. The stamp commemorates Muslim holidays, not terrorists. Not all Muslims are terrorists.

I'm a Christian and may not believe what Muslims believe, but love that fact that we are in a country where we are free enough to believe what we choose to.

Same here, however I don't see where the AMERICAN Govt should be honoring other countries holidays. Those holidays aren't recognized as such by our Govt. so why honor them? There's a lot of people, places or events that we could honor that scream baseball, hot dogs, apple pie and Chevrolet.

It's not another countries' holiday... it's a religious holiday. Has nothing to do with what country you are from.

It's not about honoring any one country. the post office just wants to have holiday offerings for everybody. that's why they offer a Chistmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, and the Eid stamp and the non-denominational stamps. I think they should of never stoped producing the Eid stamp.

I won't be purchasing any of these. However there are plenty of non criminal Muslims. There are stamps for everything, if the Beatles have a stamp I think a major religion should have one as well.

Christianity is no more American than any other religion.

People forget that many of the founders were Atheists.
...and those who weren't Atheists held separation of church and state as one of their highest priorities.

Most of the founders belived in a God, just not any particular God.

I believe there were 56 signors of the Declaration of Independence. None were atheists.

About the stamp, I could care less about any stamp.

The phrase "Separation of Church and State" appears no where in the constitution, but briefly in a letter Thomas Jefferson wrote, and refers to the freedom to practice religion, not freedom from it. That said, muslims are and should be free to practice their religion in the US, but it can't be denied that ALL terrorist attacks in recent history have been perpetrated by muslims, for Islam. That fact alone makes it understandable that non-muslims would be nervous/ hesitant to embrace the celebration of Islam. Just my $0.02

Avoid absolutes. All the ones ye hear from are like so; but their numbers remain at around 75%.
