Does it make a differance if you slobber all over the end of the cigar? Cause I tend to keep it pretty dry when I smoke. Just wondering if anyone has an opinion on this?

Some times I slobber. I have noticed the leaves at the end stick together sometimes and it changes the draw. It also seems to come apart too. Not major issues tho.

I'm not sure I understand the question.

As a dry smoker - are you considering becoming a slobbery smoker if there are some here who think it makes a difference?

I like to wet the end of mine for two reasons. One, the taste. Two, I find it easier to punch or cut without tearing the cap. I don't slobber, just keep it moist as I like to rotate the cigar on the draw most of the time. :cbig: Great question though!!

Me too. Though I have seen others who like to use it as a teething ring. :smokingbo

I see guys at the coutry club chewing on the damn things like they missed a meal. Spitting out tobacco all over the place. I think to myself usually what a waste.

I just rest the lips. it gets it moist indeed, but that is how I smoke. Pucking the lips isn't relaxing enough for me.

I don't know about chewing on it to the point of having to spit tobacco all over the place but I prefer to light the cigar and leave it in my mouth for the whole smoking period except for getting rid of some of the ash. Thus the end is usually very moist and well gnawed upon which is why I prefer the bigger ring gauge smokes. The skinny ones tend to turn bitter or just plug up on me.

The wetter you get it the more it will catch and concentrate tars and oils. May become bitter. Guys that I know that tend to chew will cut a quarter to half an inch from time to time.

I just don't like to get the end to wet because then it tends to get cold if you leave it too long. I don't enjoy getting a cold cigar in the mouth.

I never keep a cigar in my mouth, mostly because I don't like the smoke in my eyes or inadvertently breathing it in, & I only want it around my nose when I'm puffing. I also don't like a "wet" head.

Everyone has their personal preferences, those are just mine.

I always try to keep my cigars slobber free. I notice that it tastes better without being sloppy. When it is a sloppy smoke IMO it seems to taste a little harsh.
