I never had one either till a week ago. Can't find them here either but a generous brother sent one to me and like you, I really enjoyed it. Great story with the review too!! :applause:

Nice review. I haven't smoked a lot of these, but over the last 4 days, I've smoked 3 (with a Tat black CG in the middle) - time to stop collecting (not really) and time to start smoking these. It all started with the super beli on Friday afternoon, which has been my favorite so far. Rich notes of cinnamon, clove and cherries throughout. These are the flavors I usually associate with Opus. Sunday was the Fuente Fuente from '03. Less power and flavor with the flavors running together. However, the cold draw was fantastic with notes of dark chocolate covered raisins. Today I had a Fuente Fuente from this year. Rich, distinctive flavors with a tingle on the tongue. Much more maintenance involved with this one, but I enjoyed the fresher flavors which were muted only a little by the strength of this stick. So, for me, I think I've narrowed down the optimum range of smoking these to between 1 and 6 years with more more research needed.

Honestly, I can't STAND Opus that are not aged...

With about 4 or more years on them, there are very few cigars that can beat them...

Just MHO...

With Brooks don't like young ones at all. But the few with 2-3 years were very good. New though nope.

I have no idea how old this one was, the cello wasn't all that yellow. Maybe the underwealming first third was due to a lack of age. The rest was really great though!

might i suggest a maduro.....
Currently in search mode, I've come to realize that NY is not the ideal place to be looking for these! :squinteye

Edit: Apparently no place is the ideal place. It's like looking for the Holy Grail!!

I've seen the Holy Grail ... twice. I've never seen an Opus X maduro or a BBMF.

I really love Opus' and can get them very easily around my way. Holt's and a couple other of my regular stores always have them. I am just getting around to smoking some I bought about a year ago.. they are much better with some time sleeping in the humi.
