Have not smoked a rocky in a few years.
I dont find it suprising he has jumped on the full flavored full strength bandwagon.

I may have to try one of these, but I am not expecting much. I wonder if he dyed the wrapper.

Have not tried...but my shop owner told me that it was the only surprising smoke he smoked at the event in NO. Ordered a full order and only got one box due to demand. He is also a Pepin whore and does not like RP except for Decade. Cant wait to try one just to see...

Actually, I just smoked one today. Not bad. A little pepper through the first inch, tasty cedar and leather notes. Not bad, one of the better Rockys I've had, of course, I'm not a big RP fan.

The other one people are talking about is the Patel 1961....it's suppose to be spicy and more fuller bodied.

Impressions on both:

1961: I was surprised this was a decent Patel cigar with a fuller body and more flavor than I would have expected

Patel Bros: I love that they used the Pennsylvania Broadleaf and feel that this wrapper would be wonderful with a better blend of cigar. Did not like the blend but someone has to put this wrapper to good use. Try this stick just to get an idea of the wrapper. Although I was given some at the trade show and don't know the cost so if it is too much money than wait until someone does figure out has to use this wrapper.

Great Cigar. I think it's strength level is a tad bit under the Winter Collection, but it's the next best thing. I definitely recommend trying it.

I recently had a Pinar Del Rio Seleccion, which also has a Penn. wrapper. It was fantastic as well. I too, will be interested in smoking a wider variety with this wrapper.

Try the new La Herencia Cubana Oscuro Furete. It has a PA wrapper as well and it is phenomenal. I am gonna smoke it against a RP winter '08 and compare.

I have smoked a few of the Patel Bros and the 1961. I did like the Patel Bros as it reminds me of the winter which I really enjoyed. I didn't care for the 1961 though. Rocky fans will probably really like both though.

I just smoked the Patel Bros and Winter '08 on back to back days. The Patel Bros is not the same as the Winter. Not nearly as full or as good. The Patel Bros is not bad, just not what they claim it to be. JMHO
