so i got one of these in a bomb. i've read that some of you all think these are pretty good, so thought i'd burn it today. when i first put it in my mouth it was as sweet as a swisher! strange. but as it smoked it was truly enjoyable. i know these are a pretty cheap stick and i see they are several places online. anyone who smokes these regularly, where do you get the best deal on them? any help appreciated.

Prices on these seem to be just about the same across the board. I haven't bought any in a while, but last time I checked, I think you could get them at CI and at Famous.

Interesting that you found it sweet. I can't say I've had one that has been sweet...

Which one did you smoke?

I think I might grab a bundle from there Larry. Thanks for the link.

To add to Bob's question... are there any favored vitolas?

from a review:
"Taste-wise, the Flor de Oliva is extremely complex for a cigar of its price. It’s earthy, cedary and tangy. One warning, however: the cigars seem to be dipped in some sweet substance before they’re shrink-wrapped. (If any of you can figure out what it is, I’ll give you a shiny new nickel.) It’s not overpowering, and there’s not too much of it. Personally, I think it actually adds a layer of complexity, but I certainly didn’t expect this when I bought the damn things. If you don’t like your smokes a touch sweet, I’d think about staying away; however, I sure as hell think it’s worth a test drive."

Bob,

I have about a dozen of the FDO Maduro robustos and a dozen of the Natural torpedos. I would be more than willing to send you a half dozen of so of each if you want, for nothing. Just shoot me a PM!

Ya the sweetness is like the end being dipped in sugar. But I believe my pop used to get them from ci. Seemed to be alot cheaper than any B&M around. I have smoked the maduro they are all good "every day" or budget smokes.

I've bought them from CI and Famous. usually just go with whomever is cheaper when I need to order some...and yeah the flavored sweetness is only on the Sumatra wrapper, but it is VERY light and disappears within a minute or two; the maduro and corojo don't have the added sweetness.

I have heard a lot about these but have never had one. The maduros look good. I remember I have seen some HUGE ones.. I believe either 8 or 10 inches long or something crazy.

I thought I read that one version had a sweetened tip (the natural possibly?).
