Hey boys,

So I'm on vacation in Sayulita Mexico and just had the best day ever! Woke and went fishing on a cloudy/rainy day thinking the fishing wouldn't be that good. We didn't get any bites until 3/4 into the trip and bam... we landed a daddy! We saw the fish jump the 2nd time and realized we have a winner but wow, was it huge! When the fish was about 5 feet from our boat I thought it looked like a frickin' shark it was so huge! Our 2 boat fishermen said it was the biggest Sailfish they've ever caught in their 3 years of working and a lot of villagers came to take pictures once we got it on the beach hanging up. We ate sashimi literally right off the knife and cooked up such a great dinner! After dinner was some great 15 year cuban rum to go with a Cohiba Robusto that I brought along... wonderful!

I wasn't familiar with Sailfish and once googled, I learned they get up to 10 feet and 200 lbs. Our fish was almost 10 feet and about 175 lbs!?! We caught the king of the ocean!

Check it out...

That sashimi picture doesn't do it justice because once rinsed off and cut, it was pure tasty fish!

Every fishermen's dream!! Way to go!! How long did it take you to land it? And where is Sayulita? I'm assuming Baja, but I have never heard of this place. Anyway, glad you had a great time.

I have eatin Yellow Tail sashimi while the fish was still trying to breath on the boat. That however is an awesome catch.

Sayulita is north of Puerto Vallarta about a 50 minute drive... and it only took about a half hour to land the fish... he tired himself out pretty quick.
