This is why I just freeze everything going into my humi.
My freezer in the garage goes negative 20. 7 days at -20 does the trick. I also never mix sticks I recieve in trades unless they are frozen first.

Not everyone here agrees with freezing everything, but this is one more example of why its better to be safe then sorry.

Eric, sorry to hear of the bug problem. This is why I went with a vino temp. Not that I had a bug problem, but I did not want one either. Good luck and keep us posted.

even if you keep your cigars at 70 or under, beetles can still hatch. why? shipping. while cigars are in transit, temps can go much higher than 70 degrees. all you need a few days of high temps, and the eggs will get active. once they get going, 70 will not prevent them for hatching. also, sudden increases in humidity can make the eggs hatch too. biggest infestation i ever saw was from a customer who kept his cigars at about 72 degrees. he raised his humidity level form about 60% to 70%, and had a HUGE infestation
