CA List... ???

What a crock that no Tats are in the top #10. They are releasing the top #25 tomorrow so we'll see what is listed, but in my opinion, this list is just for discussion and debate. I don't really go by it, nor do most people I know. Like some people stated before, the best it serves might be a check list of cigars you want to try if you haven't already.

It is nice for the companies though as they get a ton of PR/Marketing for nothing... well besides paying advertising and probably kissing some butt along the way. For the casual smoker that doesn't live on boards or in B&M's, they will definitely read this list and pick off of the list to try. So whether you believe in this list or not, it definitely is big for the manufacturers.

I guess Pete just doesn't kiss their ass enough! LOL :dunno:

The only reason I look forward to the list is to see if there are any interesting smokes out there for me to try - the rankings are pretty worthless/useless but do allow for some fun contests trying to predict the rankings!

I also thought that TaT would be in the top 10.

A Pepin Blend was a shoe in.. Just strange how last year the Casa Magna Beat the 80year on price and this Year it's a Pricy Cigar.

Lets hope the 25 list is a little more exciting.... I did like the Sigo 5 tubo though.

I totally agree with you, it helped me to find quality sticks when I started smoking.
Their top 10 doesn't have many HTF cigars. There list has top cigars that are more widely available to people across the country. There are some tats and other stuff that could have/ should have made the list, but are extremley limited and hard to get. What good would their list be if it was a bunch of cigars that no one could find? I am sure that there will be a few tats in the top 25.

It is all political b.s.. I am not shocked at all that Pete or Dion did not make it up there. Will they make top 25...they probably will! And to be quite honest...that is the admerable place to be. We all know top 10 is BS and who can shell out the cash...the other 15 are more realistic.

In the end I would not loose much sleep over it if I were them. They both put up product that is much better than what CA deems as "top notch"...

I too may also be wrong about this whole deal. I mean I am not really CAs target audience. I am a cigar smoker and supporter of cigar rights...but I do not have a $20,000 watch, a Bentley, or in need of a Lear jet rental. Hell...maybe the uber rich like the tast of Gurkha...that would explain how they are still in business! Just my .02

Yeah, it doesn't surprise me either.

A good portion of that is people wanting to try the top 10 list, but also a good portion is people that already like those cigars, they probably think "oh crap, I better buy some before they are all sold out by newcomers!" I almost bought a box of Padron 45's last night thinking oh crap they will be super hard to find now...

Like I said in my first post, manufacturers LOVE this list for this reason alone. Even though Pete and Dion won't lose any sleep over not getting on the list, it's still too bad.
