Saint Luis Rey- Series G- anyone else like these?

I seem to have a couple of these a year and every time i do it is a wonderful smoking experience! i Just had one friday night after a gig we played (it was about 2 in the morning by the time i got to spark it up when the bar was closing) and it was a great way to relax and tasted great even in the early morning hour

i know they get pretty good ratings, but i never hear smokers really talk about these.
just wondering if any of my new brothers of the leaf smoke these on a regular basis... ?? ..

I know I will be ordering a few 5 packs soon!

I think that the SLR G is one of the under dogs of the cigar world. All the ones I've smoked have been good cigars, good construction, solid flavors, and they are inexpensive to boot.

With the Dominican Maduro wrapper and binder wrapped around that Nicaraguan filler it makes for a very smooth yet flavorful smoke.

At like five bucks a stick I usually always carry a couple of these in my humidor. It is a very flavorful maduro without being too full bodied so I can smoke it for breakfast.

Thats what i find!
its a very rich with flavor, but not really being full body
you dont need a full belly of food to enjoy this smoke!

Which is great for people who never know when they will be able to smoke that day. The only time I can enjoy really full bodied smokes is on the weekends when I can coordinate chow times with smoke times but that still leaves 5 other days in the week which is where smokes like this or the Hemingway fuentes come in very handy.

I have smoked these off and on for years and it is a good cigar. As you said that they are not one of those cigars that are talked about and it's the same with the Cuesta Rey brand as well. Both of these cigars are very good but do not have the same advertising as the en vogue cigars that are out now.

I think they are great and they are pretty reasonably priced. I am surprised they are not more popular.

Love em. Always have a few sitting around.
Only think is that the draw can sometimes be tight.

I always have these in my rotation. I can't believe either they aren't talked about more in the forums. A great cigar in my oppinion! :cbig:

i am starting to drool just thinking about these

i never have a tight draw that Okia42 mentioned
and so far i have not had a bad stick

but i had a little accident the other day,
i had these in the top left of my desktop humidor,
when i closed the lid, it came down on one of my series G's and took a "bite" out of the side towards the head of the cigar
(looked kind of like somone used a "V" cutter on the side of it

anyway, i lit it up thinking it was going to unravel and give trouble

But the baby held together no problem!

other then a bit of a loose draw, the damaged cigar still showed me a good time!
