Cain F question

Just got several boxes of Cain F's fom Tex Cigars, and noticed that one had a gold box seal diagonally over the top left corner of the box with the words "straight ligero". The cigars in this particular box have red bands on them...The other cigars in the non-banded boxes do not.
I rember reading a discussion here where there was some mystery as to how and why some were pqackged this way, and some brothers were commenting on the presence and absence of a red ribbon wrapped around the cigars.

Any clues on this? I hear that the "new" Cain F is due out soon....Perhaps the banded boxes are the new releases?

I asked this on the Nub forum and was told by Sam (via Skipper) that the first release of these were unbanded but they did add a band to the newer ones.

So, you are correct, the newer release has the band.

Awesome....Thanks for the clarification! That's good, because it means that the majority of these boxes are the original releases, with (slightly) more age and value.

Starting in March they are releasing the Cain F as a full line, in the same sizes as the regular Cain. They said it was due to popular demand, people love the F and wanted it in more sizes.

I'm gonna watch this one closely... matching the taste and ooomph of the OR cain f is going to be tough in the larger vitolas....

Nice! The Fs are going into regular production huh? I was gonna reach for a box of Cain Habanos just to get the free 5er of Fs. Now I can save my change for the Fs alone. Cain Habano is a great smoke btw IMO. Thanks again for the info!

You CAN buy the Cain F's (robustos, preented in small boxes of 5 cigars) from Tex Cigars.

Soon, there will be a re-release of the F blend, in various sizes, in boxes of 20/25.

I had the maduro and habano and thought the habano was much better. Are the F's better than the other two?

It's definately a heartier smoke, I get a different flavor from it compared to the Habano and Maduro, more than likely from the additional Ligero in the "F".

Would you compare it to the LX2?

In my opinion, the "F" is far superior to the LX2 (and I like the LX2).

The La Traviata by CAO has a lot of similarites to the LX2, they may have used the same Ligero in it.

When you talk about "double ligero" the King is still Litto Gomez at LFD, just my thoughts.
