Is that really true?? If so i had no idea. That's kind of scary.
Very true. Just like the bugs and rodent content of your food. Factories aren't sterile like operating rooms. :dunno:

Just like dust mites. It is an organic product grown outside in a field. Yeah. True.Is that really true?? If so i had no idea. That's kind of scary.
Sir, you may have just put me off cigar smoking for at least a few days. There are cigar beetle eggs in basically all tobacco. Just a matter of getting the right temp and humidity to hatch. Personally i dont mind the snap, crackle and pop of a few beetles versus tossing a very good aged stick.
All the larvae and adult beetle's should be killed by freezing. The eggs however may or may not be depending on the temperature of your freezer. You will hear both that a home freezer will and will not destroy the eggs.Once you freeze your cigars, do you ever have to worry about beetles in those cigars that were frozen assuming they are kept separate from any new cigars that come into your possession even if temps and humidity get above recommended limits?
If you choose to do so... but you could probably just keep the box in a zip lock bag for 2 weeks in your humidor, and check em...Another question.... When you get boxes in do you just take everything out of the boxes and freeze them and then put them back into the boxes? Just trying to get some idea of how to run stuff with new boxes coming in.
If done properly it does not affect the flavor of the cigar at all. Fridge x24hrs, freeze x48-72hrs, fridge x24 hrs, then back in humi.Ouch, my worse nightmare!
I just have a quick question - once you actually freeze the cigars and get them back in the humidor, do they smoke the same? Will they be slightly different forever?
Basically. Also box storage is very good at limiting infestations. My best sticks are all kept in boxes (or jarsAnother question....
