So my room is usually warm, 75-80F, and i need a way of keeping the cigars cooler. I don't want to move them out of the room, because of roommates. Any ideas?

I feel your pain brother. This Summer was terribly hot in the Seattle area and like most people in western washington, I don't have A/C. I just bit the bullet and bought a wine cooler which sucks because we don't need it 10 months out of the year!?! If you only have one room for your cigars with no cool closet or place to put your humidor, what other choice do you have? Is there any way to get your temp lower in the room? Check the temp of your closet and if it's around 70 degrees with the door shut, buy a cooler and keep your cigars in there. If it gets warmer in your room and only slightly warmer in your closet, the cooler will help keep the temp regulated.

If you don't have room nor can afford a larger wine fridge, look at best buy for a small one or keep your eyes open on craig's list etc. But it's hard to say what to do without more knowledge of your house/apartment.

I for one would not want warm cigars, you're just asking for trouble if you store them for any period of time. 80 degrees is simply unacceptable.

Ok here is my first question, why is the room kept at 75-80? Is there any way to lower the temp in the room? I think a good sealing cooler would be the best solution for you. It is affordable and not bulky. But I would figure out a way to lower the temp in the room.

Igloo is the cheap way... and it comes in small enough size for it to fit in a corner...
Best buy has some small wine coolers for a descent price, and you can keep a good amount of smokes in there.
I would avoid a 28 bottle wine cooler if you don't have PLENTY PLENTY of space, because that thing is huge for someone that only has the option of 1 room to keep it in.

Good luck brother!

Try this as a no-cost method:

Wet a large towel in cold water, then wring it most of the way out. Lay it on top of your bin/cooler, or even wrap up the whole thing if you want (but only on the OUTSIDE!).

After a couple hours, check the temp inside to see if it's gone down (if it's a very well shielded cooler it may not). If it works, keep doing this--you'll likely have to re-wet the towel daily in the dry winter.

I do this when camping all the time when I'm not able to get ice. If you don't believe me, try this:
grab a room-temp can of pop and wrap a wet/wrung out wash cloth/sock/towel around the can. The process of evaporation will naturally cool down the can. In an hour or less you'll have a cool can of pop!

same question, why so warm? this has to be only in summer, right? I mean my house is staying at 58-68 depending on the weather. I rarely use my heater.

That is a hot room we never set our thermostat higher than 68 that's if we're sick its usually around 64. Are you on a second floor and get extra heat from the rooms below? If heat is included in your rent crack a window. Or set you box closer to a window that should be a few degrees cooler which may be enough to lower your box temp.

I will say when I lived downtown Boston, we had Steam Radiators heating the building and it was either on or off no regulating the temp. We did the by how much we cracked the window. That is the only reason I can come up with.

So now I'm confused... if your cigars are maintaining 70 degrees, what's the problem? Why does that scare you?

But god almighty... you like your room warmer than 80 degrees?!? Why do you live in Seattle then? LOL

turn the heater down a bit and put on a sweater... you'll be set!! Let the cigars enjoy 65-70 degree weather, and your sweater will keep you warm... Either that or we'll get together as a group and send you a snuggie or two so you can stay warm.
Do you keep one large tupedor or various smaller ones?
