How far north are you talking Kid? Honestly when you get up into like St Germain and Minoqua I can't believe that they will be able to enforce that at some of those backwoods bars! If you're a bar with a cigar lounge you can keep your bar biz with your cigars and smoke inside, there is a place in Waukesha or that is just awesome with a great scotch selection.

yea as of july 4th, 2010, i think thats the date? all bars and resturaunts will go non-smoking. However, Cigar shops and cigar bars you will still be able to smoke and probably the only place you can grab a drink at while doing so. Also no one will be able to smoke cigerettes in said cigar shops because the bars are afraid they will take their business. Hopefully a lot of bars and restuarants start investing in outdoor patios so we can all enjoy a drink, meal, and cigar outside during the summer!

lets face it, with the second hand smoke issue so overblown and fabricated, and everyone drank the Kol-aide on that one, this will continue nationwide. It's been like that for 10+ years in cali. I'm hoping the "smoking in public outdoors" shit doesn'y get passed. Of course I feel for you guys in colder areas, cause I can smoke out side yearround.

I can't wait until the day we are on the lake and get a ticket for smoking. Between you, your bro, and me our luck is bound to land us in the slammer for it. With what your bro smokes, he might be in jail a bit longer...lol.

Gotta love the "De-mock-racy" of the USA. Next thing we know there will be someone going door to door giving tickets for smoking in our homes.

It won't be long at all before every state moves this way. It's not as much a giant liberal agenda as it is public opinion--most people want smoking bans indoors, so that's why they are going through.

What we need to do (through CRA, word of mouth, etc etc) is help people understand that a business should have the right to do what THEY WANT to do in this matter--if a business wants to isolate people who hate smoke by catering to smokers, that's they're RIGHT to do. If a business wants to cater to non-smokers by banning it in their establishment, that is likewise their right.

Fortunately, there are very few places that ban smoking outside. Even here in Ohio most restaurants allow you to smoke outside, and these days most have tables set up outside for that reason.

I completely agree with you about the business making the decision but there will always be people who will complain rather than find another place to go to. There was a story on local news about this woman who lived in Wausau or right by Wausau last summer who complained about a local bowling alley that allowed smoking. Her child had some sort issue with his lungs so she could not bring him to the bowling alley. While I feel bad for her child why do people feel that a business should change their policy because of an afflicition to themselves or family? This whole banning of smoking issue just gets me ticked off!!
