I've loved the Tats that I've smoked so far, but it's not like that's all I'm going to smoke. I'm a huge variety guy for one thing, and for another I can't afford to smoke them often.

This is quite interesting: I had a very similar bittersweet experience today!

So, I'm very (or was very) fond of mild cigars, but most recently I have been very apt to smoking Tat Angeles. I considered it a stronger cigar that I can enjoy and not get too overwhelmed by strength (and boy, do I do enjoy those)...

Today, I had a mild cigar (which shall not be named) and usually mild cigars are flavorful to me; they give me all I really like in a cigar that is not strong, BUT boy, when I went to that mild cigar today IT FELT LIKE I WAS SMOKING AIR! This totally ruined my mild cigar experience. I've always heard of more seasoned brothers loving strong/full-bodied cigars because mild cigars never did it for them...I feel like I now finally understand why.

Basically, I am happy to say that my smoking of Tats have made me able to smoke stronger cigars and enjoy them, but also, sadly, I feel like now mild cigars just don't do it for me any more. Bittersweet...indeed.

I love both Padron's and Tatuaje. Both are in my top three favorite brands, but I've never had a flat, flavorless Padron, EVER! I can't say that w/ tatuaje, now... Though some tat's have such a ridiculous amount of flavor that you almost wouldn't expect, so good.

I've smoked two Padrons and have a couple resting. Both were good - but to be fair to them, I was smoking while on an assignment and couldn't relax enough to take it all in. I've smoked one Tat Black, and thanks to some very generous Brothers, I have other Tats resting. The Tat Black was in a B&M and was really dry. It burned fast and hot. He had just expanded his Tat line and they were pretty much off the truck. That may have been the reason. Can't say I didn't like it as much as the Padron, because they were uniquely different and under completely different circumstances. IMO, both deserve a return audition!
