Just dropped my Blackberry Curve into the toilet!! Luckily, it was at least clean bowl :applause:

I was doing some caulk work around the tub and went to toss a papertowel into the toilet and my phone was in the same hand....plop.

I got it out within 5 seconds, screen was still on and yanked the battery as fast as I could. Towel dried it, let it sit for a while, just took my air compressor to it to try and blow it out as much as possible. Now it's sitting in a baggie of rice.

Keep y'er fingers crossed...I leave for Vegas on Tuesday and if I have to drop $300-$500 on a new phone before that trip, I am gonna be PISSED!

as long as the battery is out you can bake it at low temp for about an hour. Think 100 to 150 degreees. Don't go too long but It will help If you have the tools, you could open it up. It is a bit of a pain but doable

Take some of your beads (maybe a ounce or 2) and dry them out for a few hours. Put said dry beads in small container just large enough to hold both. I will replace your beads on Monday with new beads. I have enough xtra new beads right now to replace a couple ounces.
Oh yeah way to go #2 big boy!

Should you call it a Dingleberry now, instead of a Blackberry?

You probably want to let it dry out over night. Rice should be good, but with it being winter, it could probably dry out easily in open air too. Hope it's okay.

done this once and more or less soaked it in rubbing alcohol since that will repel the water. Worked fine after letting the alcohol evaporate off.

I found some guys blackberry on a field after heavy rains. Cooked it sloooooowly in the toaster oven for a coupla hours. Recharged his battery, gave him a call, and mailed it off to him.

These things are sturdy!

put it in front of the exhaust exit by the floor on your refridgirator. leave it there over night and it should dry it right up. I've done it two times and it worked great! That dry heat clears it up real nice! Good luck bro!

So far, so good. She booted up and everything is working. Next is a serious sterilizing with some alcohol and I don't suspect anyone at the Leaf will be asking to borrow my phone anytime soon....
