Felt the "mini quake" just befor 4 a.m. this morning in Plainfield, Illinois. Just a small rumbling for about ten seconds, thought it was the wind. God I hope the Burning Leaf is still standing, let us know Tim.

Heard it more than felt it. It was like the lift gate on a dump truck slammed shut right outside my bedroom window. The wife, who is a very sound sleeper, bolted out of bed with me and the dog. Crazy loud, not much movement beyond the 30mph wind we were already getting.

I didn't even know what forum this was in at first, thought Bob was talking about the aftershock of a bomb. I woke up around 4:30, but that was well after the quake happened...didn't feel a thing.

We had a quake here last year too. It woke me up when I fell out of bed.
I hope all the Chi-town guys are Fine. It sucks when stuff fall on your head while sleeping.

Al I got to say is WTF. CA is getting floods and mudslides, Texas is getting snow, The East coast is burried with snow. The midwest is getting snow and earthquakes? Who did dprice piss off? Did the leaf boys cigar hoard push down the techtonic plates and caused them to shift? I think they may have got the attention of the big man up stairs for the damage from all the bombs.

Didn't feel or hear a thing. I slept right through it. But Hossdawg brings up a good question about the Leaf. Is it ok?:rolling:

We were heading to a possible structure fire call this morning at 445 a.m. My driver asked me if I felt the earth quake at 4 a.m. sharp. I told him Im not sure but I woke up right around that time as well. One of the pranksters was working yesterday so he thought he was under his bed shaking it. When we came back from the call we seen it on the news. Looks like those fault lines are getting active 2nd 1 in just a few years. I dont know why but Plainfield area always feels the quake even when some others do not. Must be the areas geology?

I live 45 minutes from the epi-center. My wife woke me up as it began and I told her," thanks for waking me up to hear the strong winds shaking the house." Oops! It didn't really seem like too big of a deal, though. Even my light-sleeping dog wasn't bothered by it. And my cigars are just fine, in case anyone was wondering! LOL
