Yeah, I never understood why NC smokes of the day are listed in the Habanos section. Makes no sense to me!and the only activity around here is related to "Today's Smoke" topic which is general and not restricted to a region of origin per say.
Yes, there is a difference.Very nice looking humi and stock. Now my question is and this may sound silly but is there that much of a difference between the Cuban brands made by general cigar and the real deal Cuban or is it just having something that is forbidden?
I know I have soo much to learn still.... But would that difference be worth the investment?tubaman said:Yes, there is a difference.
Hear hear.Yes. While NC's have improved immensly recently, there is imo still no comparison to a CC. There are good and bad CC's, don't get me wrong. And there are still consistancy problems with CC's, but they are still the pinnacle of the cigar industry.
The Regional Releases are made for a particular distributor to sell in their region. There are usually the "tried & true" vendors that get them and some I just happen to stumble upon them. A premium is expected to be paid. Now, whether the smoking experience/taste justify that premium has yet to be determined. Some regional releases are worth it and some are not. YMMV as everyone has different tastes.I'm becoming more and more interested in the "regional releases"
how exactly do I find these? they are released in the country/area the band lists correct?
Is there usually a price difference for these?
Sorry for hijacking the thread, and thanks for any info.

Tastes vary, it's up to the person... Stick around and you're sure to get a cuban cigar one way or another.I know I have soo much to learn still.... But would that difference be worth the investment?
These are actually my crown jewels ! They are a 1996 vintage. Had one for my birthday. Sweet sweet smoke.the LGC look very nice.
I guess it is safe for me to say; after having quite a few NC; that although NC are good, they still can not be compared to cubans. I have also tried general cigar cuban brands and find them to be waaaaaayyy of the mark compared to their cuban counterparts. Nevertheless; there are many NCs to be enjoyed. I enjoy Pete Johnson's work, DP's and oliva's stogies especially the serie Vs.Very nice looking humi and stock. Got interested in these a while back. If you ask me it is a hit and miss. If you were in for REs, I'd suggest the Por Larranaga Magnificos (UK) and Ramon Allones Libanos - 1st release (Lebanon) both are on the expensive side but well worth the investment.I'm becoming more and more interested in the "regional releases"
