I was wondering if there are any decent cigars with a candela wrapper? I see there are a few cigars out there made with this wrapper but typically anything posted about these cigars are negative. I've never smoked a candela wrapped cigar and am a bit curious. Are these cigars typically mild or are there medium to full candela cigars out there?

Thanks.

I'm interested in this as well. I've only seen a few of these cigars and most of the reviews on them have been less than enthusiastic with the primary complaint being the flavor (tastes like grass/hay.)

Yup that's candela. Try the Fuente 858 candelas as at least the tobacco is good.

I reviewed one a while back...it was an 858 AF Flor Fina.

Trust me though...the weather in the picture makes me miss the beginning of fall!!!

I'll bite the bullet and ask the stupid question:

If you age a cigar with a candela wrapper will the color eventually darken til it's brown?

No. It's been cured that way. Think of it like this: if you leave a natural wrapper long enough, it won't turn into a maduro.

On the other hand, there are cigars that, when puffed too quickly, you can anger––their response is to swell up and turn green. :smokingbo

I will have to look for these the next time I make it to a b&m. I have a that candelas aren't carried by many b&m's since they are no longer that popular.
It'll be a couple months at least before they are released.

My B&M carries the 858 candela... I don't think they sell many though.

I would totally get a few to smoke as a change of pace. I have smoked several in the recent past and really enjoy them. I can't wait for the Holy GReen LAnce
