2001 shooting
On March 5, 2001, fifteen-year-old Santana High student [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Andrew_Williams"]Charles Andrew Williams[/ame] entered a boys' bathroom at the school and opened fire on student Bryan Zuckor, killing him. He then left the bathroom and began firing indiscriminately at people, wounding eleven students and two teachers, and killing another student, Randy Gordon. The shooting ended with Williams surrendering to the police.



for those who don't know, i was a first responder to this incident. i am currently the School Resource Officer for Santana High.

Wow, what a horrible event and it must have been absolutely surreal to be a first responder to this ... but I'm glad for the survivors that they had someone like you there to give them strength after something so traumatic.

You have to look on what little bright side there is and the lives that you and your co-workers saved. I'm sure the community is thankful and appreciative of your work that day.

My thoughts are with you. As a teacher, even though I feel completely safe at my school, the thought is always in the back of your mind.

My thought and prayers are with you and your community. Thank you for sharing what must have been, and still probably is, a horrific episode in your career and life. Thanks for what you do.
