I don't know, I would think new releases are planned many months if not years in advance. Not having decided if the monster will even be done this year concerns me as that probably means the cigars haven't even been decided yet. i.e. blended, etc. I guess I don't understand the whole process of cigar blending, aging, etc. as I would think it would take a lot longer to plan a release as the monster than he makes it seems it will take. I hope he just doesn't succumb to the pressure to put something out and it ends up being crap.
Well, if he decides to do it in the next month and a half like he said. Maybe a month for rolling and then 4 months to age.

They may end up being young like they were this year, but that isn't a big deal to me. I'm not going to smoke the whole box right away and the dracs seem to be coming of age, from what I read. Buy them and smoke one to see where they are, then put them away for a year and smoke them for Halloween next year. If things go well this year and he isn't disgusted with the project, maybe he'll start 2011's soon enough to get age on them.

Do you think Pete under estimates the demand for such a stick? The same as for the Reserva SW Maddie, Noella Reserva, etc? These are 2 sticks that would just fly off the shelves every time they come in, but yet they don't get made anymore. Is it lack of the same tobacco in the Noellas case? I understand the SW Maddie was done for a friend who passed away in his honor, but what about a similar stick? Almost everybody I know or have met that likes Tatuaje sticks prefer these other sticks over the normal line.

For a while he was having trouble sourcing enough connecticut broadleaf maduro wrapper to make these regular production, so he did the limited reservas. He seems to have secured enough for a regular production stick, but maybe not a whole line. There may also be a limit on the number of sticks the factory can produce in a given year

The brown label CG reserva will be regular production. I think it is going to be awesome.

That was a good interview... I hope we can all talk Pete into continuing the Monster Series. I can only imagine the crap he put up with this past release, but he should poll his retailers and consumers on how it should be sold, come up with the best plan, and just let it be. You definitely can't please everyone and he should hopefully understand this and move forward with the next cigar!

I imagine they sold gangbusters.

Very few cigars on the market using contemporary packaging, marketing, advertising, ect. sit well with me. This was one of the few, and I'd hate to see it burn out after two years.

thanks man. I think they whole spooky ticket thing is dead as dillinger because of this year...
Heh, what about a ticket and every box with serial codes on them? Then 13 get selected for a schwag package?

You'd probably make more money and they could actually do a "no purchase necessary" thing where you send off for tickets.

Hopefully you can get some other kind of work from it.
